Iceland's otherworldly aura seems to heighten at the winter months, when viewing of the Northern Lights is at its peak and the contrast between the cool, crisp air and its steaming geothermic hot springs heightens. Couple that with hiking through Þingvellir National Park, meeting the famous Icelandic horse, exploring lava caves, and chasing waterfalls, and you've got yourself a spectacular winter adventure like no other.
Itinerary
Day 1
Reykjavik
Make your way to Reykjavík today to start your tour.
Day 2
Reykjavik/Álftröð
Travel from Reykjavík to explore a lava cave and see the natural power of volcanoes first-hand. In the afternoon, get up close and personal with the famous Icelandic horse before returning to Álftröð. In the evening, you will have your first chance to see the Northern Lights out in the countryside.
Day 3
Álftröð
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings will be dependent on weather conditions. the tour operator cannot guarantee that travellers booked on this tour will experience the Northern Lights.
Day 4
Álftröð/Reykjavik
Head to Þingvellir National Park. Visit sights like the Geysir Hot Spring and Gullfoss waterfall before transferring back to Reykjavik for one final evening with your new friends.
Day 5
Reykjavik
Depart at any time.

Ronan was an excellent guide. He is knowledgeable, full of energy, and seems to genuinely enjoy the tours and Iceland. He is able to pull the entire group together so it feels like a family by the end of the trip. All of the activities were excellent and the selected restaurants were great. The days are jam-packed with activities and sites to see, so it isn?t the most relaxing vacation if that is what you are looking for. Iceland was beautiful and we are glad we got to visit. We did see the Northern Lights during the first week of April, but they were somewhat faint behind the clouds. Ronan creates such a fun and unique trip that the Northern Lights become an afterthought by the end. Tour seemed well planned by CEO and the group style worked really well.
